My love for art started in childhood with drawing and painting while growing up in Indiana. I got a little distracted in college and ended up with degrees in psychology from Purdue and Indiana State Universities instead of pursuing an art degree. Thanks to my husband I've rediscovered my love for art, which has developed into a love of photography. Although I am not currently working as a full-time photographer, I spend much of my free time photographing and learning more about photography.
I'm currently living in my fourth state (Washington). I grew up in Indiana, spent a few years in Texas, and then moved to the Tampa Bay area in 2010. I recently relocated to the Seattle area. I live in Bothell with my husband and 3 dogs who frequently serve as my models when I'm feeling creative or want to try something new...Dog birthday cake smash anyone? Uh, yeah! (Don't worry, the cake was made of all dog friendly ingredients.)
My style leans towards lifestyle photography - meaning that I tend to take photos that are candid and in-the-moment. Although I do take posed portaits, I prefer shots that focus on interactions between family members. I think this style of photography results more interesting and lasting memories. If this sounds style of photography sounds like something you'd like or you like what you see in my galleries, contact me and let's set up your portrait sesssion!
